Yes. Sessions are fully clothed. Wear comfortable clothes. You only need to empty your pockets, remove your belt and eyeglasses. You rest on a treatment table and can be over or under a blanket during the entire session. You may even fall asleep if you’d like!

No. Craniosacral therapy uses very light touch- often about the weight of a nickel- and is unhurried and individualized. The focus is different. The goal is to release long held tension and trauma patterns, quiet the sympathetic nervous system, and activate the inner wisdom of the body to make self-corrections. Every session is different.

Somatic bodywork is more specifically known as somato emotional release. It involves the use of therapeutic imagery and dialogue woven into a craniosacral session. You may experience various sensations, memories, and images during a session. We can connect with those to enhance your awareness, create a foundation for the integration of these experiences, and superpower your healing possibilities. Each session is unique and your body shows me where to focus the session through your craniosacral rhythm.

Yes. I offer somatic bodywork (hands-on, fully clothed) in the office and in your home. It is different from somatic talk therapy or counseling as it uses the wisdom of the body to unlock unresolved patterns stored in the subconscious. The body really does keep the score.

Craniosacral therapy listens to the subtle rhythms of the body. Somatic bodywork includes that and layers in therapeutic imagery and dialogue with the client’s inner wisdom as a guide. This assists the client in developing greater awareness of and resolution of stuck patterns. Combined these become a whole-being modality with possible affects at all levels- mind/body/spirit.

Somatic bodywork does a great job at clearing old emotions, beliefs, and patterns. If something emotional or a long-held belief is sitting in the body, it can surface in a session and there are a variety of methods we can use to lift it- these include somato-emotional release using therapeutic imagery and dialogue, EFT (emotional freedom technique or tapping), or emotion code. Ultimately the choice is yours and Julie flexibly weaves in multiple modalities to support your healing journey.

I offer trauma-informed craniosacral therapy and somatic bodywork in Greenville and in your home. Sessions are fully clothed and unhurried. This is not psychotherapy.
A lot of people come when talk alone hasn’t shifted what the body is still holding. This work can sit alongside mental health therapy. If you need that support, have a trusted therapist on your team. For extreme trauma, I require that you already be in frequent care with that kind of professional.
